EFVA Kids Friendship Club will begin meeting on Saturday, November 11, 2017, 1-3 pm, at the home of Regional Director Patty Hood, 4213 Lookout Rd., Virginia Beach. Children ages 7-16 are invited to attend this informal gathering. This month’s craft will be a pine cone turkey suitable to use as a Thanksgiving table decoration. The emphasis will be on talking, sharing and having fun together. Parents are welcome to join in making the craft, relax in my living room with a cup of coffee or cold drink or escape to the nearby Taste Unlimited for a moment of peace.
This club was inspired by friendships formed this past summer when children attended our Studio E Art Therapy sessions. Many were sad to have the classes end. Our Friendship Club is open to all children with epilepsy. Parents are asked to accompany children with developmental delays that might need assistance with crafts.
Future club meetings will be held Dec. 9, 1-3 pm, Christmas ornament craft. No meeting in January. Feb. 10, 1-3 pm, Valentine craft. March 10, 1-3 pm, Something purple and crazy for Purple Day.
Please consider this opportunity for your child to meet others living with the challenges of epilepsy. Friendships made when children are young can be an important resource during adolescence and teen years. It is also hoped that our Friendship Club will provide time for parents to network and support each other.
To register your child please contact Patty Hood at firstname.lastname@example.org, 757-652-6565
